The Chinese carmaker Maxus has introduced a luxury recreational vehicle (RV) that has a whole second level and comes equipped with an elevator to transport passengers between floors. This new invention is expected to gain supporters among those who are enthusiastic about motorhomes.
The recreational vehicle with two levels is chock full of surprises. The V90 Villa Edition is a typical recreational vehicle from the outside. However, a new world will appear before you once it is opened when you arrive at the location where you want to spend the night, its appearance changes, becoming something other than a mobile micro-home.
While businesses that focus on off-grid living haven’t seen the same boom, several other businesses have begun to focus on producing luxury recreational vehicles for those who are financially secure enough to purchase a home on wheels and enjoy social distance in style.
According to a report by Gizmodo, one of these companies, SAIC Motor, built a vehicle called the Maxus Life House V90 Villa Edition RV. This vehicle is a hybrid between a home and a vehicle, and it also resembles a character from the television series Transformers.
Because of its retractable roof, the V90 Villa Edition may be converted from a single-story RV into a two-story mobile home, complete with a panoramic solarium when parked.
Because of the layout, owners can enjoy a comfortable ride without giving up any living space; larger RV models equipped with more amenities are often more difficult to operate.
The SAIC Maxus Life Home V90 Villa Edition design and construction take place in China. When the recreational vehicle is parked, the floor area is increased using slide-out walls, bringing the total to around 215 square feet (65 square meters).
Lavish sunroom, no solar panels
Most of the regular high-end RV features are included in the V90 Villa Edition, such as an L-shaped sofa, a rather big kitchen, a clear OLED TV, and touchscreen interfaces on the walls.
The V90’s sunroom is where it truly shines as an impressive feature. However, the area automatically extends from the top of the RV, providing a whole second level of living space that includes a walk-out balcony from which to take in the scenery.
The sunroom has panoramic wrap-around windows that can be electrically darkened, utilizing LCD technology to provide additional seclusion. These windows are a stunning addition to the space.
An elevator that works is included in the SAIC Maxus Life Home V90 Villa Edition, a feature that has never been available in an RV previously.
Because of the inclusion of the reportedly claustrophobic elevator, occupants can access the RV’s solarium without having to exit the vehicle and up a ladder located on the side of the vehicle.
The absence of solar panels in the design of the V90 Villa Edition is a peculiar decision considering that another luxury RV manufacturer, Living Vehicle, has only just introduced a vehicle that can charge a Tesla Cybertruck.
With the addition of solar panels, owners would have been able to recoup some of the astronomically high asking price of $413,000 that SAIC Motor posed for the vehicle before shipping costs.
